My company Advantage Sports Limited is the New Zealand distributor of Babolat. We sponsor more than 40 sports people and approximately 20 sporting events every year. We look at the following aspects when considering requests for sponsorship:
Information sort pre sponsorship;
Demographics Profile of the event, player or coach Benefit of sponsorship of the player, coach or event What/who our competitors sponsor Character of the player or coach
Most important features we hope to achieve from sponsorship are;
Create awareness and visibility Increase brand loyalty Showcase community responsibility Achieve a balanced exposure
In my opinion a combination of the above and honest regular communication and loyalty from sponsored persons is what we seek.
